    • Born in Olympia, Washington, Noah Gundersen is the oldest of five biological and three adopted siblings. Noah was homeschooled in a deeply religious but loving household. He took piano lessons at age 13 and later learned to play the guitar. At the age of 18, Gundersen left home to pursue a career in music and began to play at venues around Seattle, sometimes with his sister Abby Gundersen who plays violin and sings vocal harmonies. The two have been playing music together since Noah was 15 and Abby was 12  They've also performed in the local band The Courage together. "The musical communication I've had with Abby is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere. It's a really special thing. Having her with me makes me so much more confident in what I'm doing," says Noah. (Also, Abby recently moonlighted as a tour accompanist for acclaimed singer-songwriter Jarrod Gorbel). As a teenager, Gundersen formed his first band, Beneath Oceans, with a few friends from his high school. He began to perform in Seattle and became recognized for his long dreadlocks, which many believed to be an homage to frontman Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, who served as a musical inspiration to Gundersen. He's also said to be influenced by Ryan Adams, Dashboard Confessional, and Neil Young. In 2008, Gundersen collaborated with friends and his then-16-year-old sister to form the band The Courage. Gundersen's songs were  used in key scenes in the TV shows Sons of Anarchy, The Vampire Diaries, and The Following. In 2014, Gundersen self-produced his debut album, "Ledges" at Seattle’s Studio Litho, owned by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard.  His new album "Carry The Ghost' finds an older, more sophisticated Gundersen working on a more ambitious scale.
