    • William Fitzsimmons is equal parts songwriter and psychotherapist, creating captivating music, which uniquely melds depravity, honesty, and autobiography into a counter-intuitive seamless whole. Since 2005, Fitzsimmons has created three full-length albums, each thoroughly themed and embossed with matters of family history, intimate disclosure, and bold confession, yielding rich folk music, ranging from the stark and acoustic to the voluminous and electronic. William was born to two blind parents and his childhood home was filled with a myriad of sounds to replace what eyes could not see. Pianos, guitars, trombones, talking birds, classical records, family sing-a-longs, bedtime stories, and a pipe organ, which his father built into the house with his own hands. He is often compared to contemporaries Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, and the late Elliott Smith.
